Just took a trip to Jones Beach to go for a walk and take some pictures. I was able to take a few good shots, and have posted all of the best ones below, what do you think?

West Nile Virus - Outbreak on Long Island!

West Nile Virus is out and strong on the loose in Mid Central Nassau Long Island. There have been 5 hospitalizations and 2 deaths in the past two weeks! This is more cases being diagnosed and treated here than in the past 3 years!

So far the Virus has struck in a total of 6 Nassau Long Islanders Including:

• 75 Year Old Man in Carle Place - First Death to West Nile Virus. - Felt ill August 5th with fever and extreme weakness, was hospitalized August 11th, died Aug 25th.
  
• 80 Year Old Woman in New Hyde Park - Second Death - Fell Ill Aug 20th with fever, vomiting, neck stiffness, was hospitalized Aug 20th and died August 24th.
• 49 Year Old Woman in West Hempstead - Ill August 11th with headache, aches and fatigue and is now home recovering.
  
• 64 Year Old Man in Uniondale - Hospitalized August 8th.
  
• 52 Year Old Woman in Massapequa - Diagnosed with probable West Nile she has since been discharged and is recovering.
• 57 Year Old Woman in Bethpage - Recovering at home.

This is no joke people, we are under attack from Mosquitos! What the hell do we do, they are small tiny things we can't even see giving us DEADLY VIRUSES! Are you kidding me?

Commissioner of Health Dr. Maria Torroella Carney urges residents to:

• Empty standing water from old tires, garbage cans, or any object that can hold water
• Make sure roof gutters drain properly and clean clogged gutters in the spring and fall
• Keep swimming pools chlorinated and their covers free of stagnant water
• Change the water in birdbaths every two or three days
• Keep window and door screens in good repair
• Consider wearing long sleeves, pants, socks and mosquito repellent (according to directions) where mosquitoes are active, especially in the late afternoon and at dawn and dusk
• Wear long sleeves and pants when outside, especially at dawn and dusk

Do these things NOW! TODAY PEOPLE! Get off your butts!

OK so the weird thing is we found a dead pigeiun at work today, and we are like is it West Nile? So we called up and they said that it probably isn't but it could be.

GREAT!!

Also this really bugged me out, maybe I am just weird, but my gf's and I always knock on wood for good luck whenever it is 11:11 now if you watched that ABC report you may have noticed this: IT IS 11:11!!

Leonard's Wedding Ceremony

These are photos of my good friend's wedding, I hope he doesn't mind me putting them on here, there are not that many, but there are some really great shots of Leonard's.

The front fountain of the place, it was a day wedding and it was very sunny out.

At the stair case balcony with a great view of trees and the city in the distance.

The shear size of this chandelier is amazing, I think it was a great piece of art.

The chandelier inside was twice as nice as the one in the stair way!

Great times with great friends, dancing the day away on this beautiful day!

Overall it was a great wedding! With great sites to be seen!

Is MIA a Terrorist or a Liberator? Or neither?

I found a really good essay on this and I read all about Maya Arulpragasam, AKA: M.I.A.

MIA and her Terrorist Chic image that she expunges so well to the public media. In reality she is a Liberation fighter against the country, Sri Lanka (Island South of India), that is taking part in a genocide against her people, the Tamil people (click for wiki). She had to flee as a child to England, and her father became a leader in the LTTE, Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (click for wiki). These Liberation fighters are terrorists in that they are randomly bombing and killing people in Sri Lanka, but they are doing it because the people that took over Sri Lanka is hosting a Genocide against her people, The Tamils, hence they had to form a terrorist group to attempt to stop the Genocide of her people.

"The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) is an organisation whose aim is the independence of the Eelam Tamil Nation from Sri Lanka (link). Yet the conflict between the LTTE and the Sri Lankan government has been framed with two narratives. Now the fucked up part is that MOST of the world powers have agreed with the ruling Sri Lanka party (the Sinhala people) as opposed to her people, the Tamils, and are completely ignoring the fact that a genocide has and is taking place in the country...hence her and her father fled to England to try and have a normal good life, instead of having there family murdered, homes destroyed, and money stolen for government use.

So the long of the short is that she is a terrorist, but she is a terrorist for all the right reasons, and I feel that any one would do the same thing in her position. The other fucked up part is that she can't even admit it, for fear of public persecution and of course the common mis-understanding of the neanderthal man. (Terrorist? KILL HER!) She even got her Visa rejected in 2005, because she is considered by the United States to be a terrorist, and I guess if the LTTE attacks the United States, then I'd say kill her, but as long as the LTTE suicide bomb attacks are focused on the political party in Sri Lanka, then rock on MIA!

I think this is very interesting, reminds me of System of a Down in the 90's trying to get the Armenian Genocide recognized by the world, that occurred in The Great War (World War I) in Turkey...one of my other fav. bands.

Long Island Tornado Touches Down in Woodbury

Long Island got hit with a Tornado on August 7th 2008.

This is the first time in my memory that Long Island has gotten hit with a tornado.

Pineapple Express Movie Review

Pineapple Express was an awesome movie! This movie, written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, is about a stoner and his best friend, his newly acquainted drug dealer, that has taken a more than friendly appeal to him. Seth Rogen (Knocked Up, Superbad) the classic stoner, guy has easy job, and smokes pot everyday, most of the day. James Franco (Harry Osborn, New Goblin in Spider-man 3) the classic drug dealer, has a massive amount of pot, and different flavors, loves every morsel of the weed, and looks like a complete dirt bag. These two classic characters capture the essence of real time kids in America's youth of today's society. This film is dead on to characters that exist in today's world. These two go on a wild adventure of action packed adventure with semi-homo comedy and plenty of guns and great classic fight seens.

This is a MUST SEE!

Dead Monster Comes to Montauk Long Island! from Plum Island?

This creature washed up shore on Montauk Long Island this past week, and people are really starting to wonder, what the hell is this thing?!?!?!

Some claim this is a monster from Plum Island-wiki or visit The Truth About Plum Island a site about the experiments that are conducted on this very strange island.
